Installing a Hindi Font in Ubuntu

This should possibly work for other distros too. Firstly download the truetype font to a location on disk. Then copy it to /usr/share/fonts/truetype/font-install
sudo cp ~/Desktop/k010.ttf /usr/share/fonts/truetype/font-install
Then run the following command.
fc-cache -fv
Close applications like Open Office and reopen.
